Boohoo Blog Competition

Today I got an email about a blog competition, normally I ignore things think this as I'm always convinced they are a scam. I don't know why today was different but I decided to look on boohoo's website and see if I could find the competition and I did.

boohoo.com is not a website I have ever looked on before and I'm pleasantly surprised and very disappointed at the same time.

Some fab on trend items for really reasonable prices sadly they don't cater for the plus size amongst us, I think the biggest size is an 18's, however everything I clicked into seemed to stop at a size 16.
Now I really should have turned round and moved away but I didn't and I searched and I’ve found loads of things I want, so I though sod it I'm entering this competition even if all I can buy is shoes and handbags with my winnings, what you might also like to read about is as part of the prize is a voucher to share with blog readers. Now I only have 45 GFC followers so you might be in with a chance! Haha I'm counting my chickens here but let’s think positive!

I went with a fantasy outfit, something I could never get away with even if they sold it in my size with the exception of the earrings.

Lindsey Bandage Bodycon Dress £25 - I feel in love with this dress as soon as I clicked on it, I adore the contrast between the black and the gold and how it wrapped round the dress

All I need now is to win and for them to do some plus size lines and I’m there!

Have you shopped at boohoo.com? What do you think?

I think I’ve got quite a bit for £97. I did see some cheaper heeled boots that I really liked for £20 but as everything I liked was so reasonably priced I decided to push the boat out and go for the "dearer" pair and I still have money left

I was going to say what shall I get with my virtual £3 but I've just noticed there is no free postage so I'm now 99p short on standard delivery!

I'm not a total cheapskate but I do hate paying for delivery!

Primark Sadness

On Saturday i went into Primark, as i have run out of money this month i decided to try a few things on that i like and might buy once i get paid.
Ahem well lets looks at the evidence.

I found this shirt on the sale rail, however it didn't have a reduced price on it. As you can see i will not be buying this. its really short in length, tight across the whole boobicles and as you can see i needed to put my hand up to hide the old belly button.
Size 20 - £12 (possibly reduced)
Next up a dog print shirt, in the shop this is shown under a workwear dress and i love it everything about it, well that was until i tried it on.

Do i look slightly more bedraggled than in the first photo? well i can explain, it was an effort to get this on i think i burnt 200 cals easily.

Hurdle 1 getting my hands through the sleeves. there is no button to undo and it was hard work to get my had through. I got it fasten just, but there is no way i could wear this in public as you can see i's given up and took a picture flashing the belly button.
Size 20 - £12
It was also painfully tight on the arms - OUCH
Next up was a pretty dipped hem dress. Well well well, this is far as i managed to get it on
Size 18 - £10  sale
My main reason for going to primark was on my quest for a black skirt. now as a pairshape i should know better than to try a pencil skirt but it was in jersey which i love (no ironing!!!)
Size 20 -£7
Please ignore my jeans, i really couldn't be bothered taking them off after the shirts ordeal. The smirk is me laughing at myself for keeping my jeans on

As you can she it is not looking good, lumps and bumps galore
I came out of the shop feeling miserable. i am in desperate need of losing some poundage. i will never be slim but i do want to to feel better about myself in my clothes.

ASDA ASDA ASDA

I am on the quest for black skirt, knee length, perfect for work but without being from the work wear aisle.

Someone on twitter @Eclectic_Gina to be precise suggested ASDA. i looked on line and spotted this one
Picture is from Here
We had a little trip to asda and i tried it on in a size 22. and while i liked it it felt a bit frumpy. i didn't take a picture of the top outside the skirt. ever though it looks too tight, it felt like it was going to fall down which is never a good look.

Skirt Size 22 ASDA  MODA £12
However my mum found a short length version in her size and bought it, its amazing that although its only about 2 inches shorted it made all the difference. When i went to ASDA's website to get the image it has been reduced to £8. so i think my mum is none too pleased. but she is going to go to ASDA gain for me this week and see if she can get me a short length one.

I did come home with 2 new frocks. i've seen a lot of people comment on the lack of size 24's in their local ASDA's but the one i went to had 24 in pretty much everything i looked at. however i really wish the G21 went to at least a 22. I loved loads of stuff in that range.

I was browsing the sale rail and i spotted this dress reduced to £3. it was on an 18's hanger and i thought it might be too small, trying it on and it felt a bit big but for £3 i can cope. it was only when i got home i realised it was a 24! eeek labels don't matter really but i went from feeling ecstatic that a size 18 was too big to feeling miserable that a size 24 is only a little bit big! oh well it was £3 who cares!

Another dress same situation, this one was £6 and again on an 18's hanger but is a 24. |I reck i'm 22 in ASDA and this orange dress only just fits, although it is clearly a summer dress i think with brown tights and boots it will work for Autumn as well

Challenging Self #2 - Dresses on the Weekend

Hi all,

Leading on from my first post Challenging Self #1 - Belts, I started to think about other things i never do and think that i should change.

From Friday to Sunday i almost always wear jeans unless i'm going on a night out, so I've decided to try and wear dresses at the weekend (Friday - Sunday)

I've decided to try this for 4 weeks initially, the 4 weeks are now officially up and i've done it and to be honest it wasn't a hardship at all, its worked out really well as i've had things planned for each of the weekends so i wasn't just slobbing at home so no one was any the wiser and thought it was odd i'd put a dress on. not that they would. i keep saying this but TBH i wear dresses monday - friday without a thought so why the weekend would be different is anyones guess.

WEEKEND1:
I wore a dress on a Sunday to Lees Village Fair!

WEEKEND 2:
I went to Skipton for the weekend with my mum and i wore a dress on the weekend, it doesn't look like i've got a photo but it might be on the main PC, i will try and add it in at some point

WEEKEND 3:

This weekend i went to Lytham Proms with my Mum and i only took dresses, the reason for this was more practical i'm afraid. The British Weather, can be so unpredictable and i was taking wellies if it rained, so i decided i could layer up in dresses rather than walk round with soggy hems of jeans.

I still can't believe this picture is in Blackpool

WEEKEND 4:
we had a trip to Manchester shopping, the weather was mixed so again i decided rather than risk soggy hems i'd wear a frock. This is a sun-dress from C&A in Fuerteventura. I really need to invest in some better Bra's but being around a 40B it isn't always easy.

Dress C&A 9 Euros

I really need to get myself a photographer

I love wearing dresses and i think with the exception of next weekend (but not totally ruling it out, dresses will be featuring in my weekend wardrobe!

do you have a different weekend wardrobe to during the week?

I have been trying to keep this up and i'm happy to report with the exception of the Hen Do i went on (i did wear a skirt as part of my fancy dress costume)  And bank holiday weekend, when i wore a dress on Bank Holiday Monday (still counts right?) I have worn a dress every weekend, and its not been an effort and i'm really enjoying wearing them.

All i need to do now is feel comfortable in a Skirt. Any Tips?

OOTD Saturday

Saturday - I'm still wearing dresses on the weekend.
I am also trying to take pictures using the self timer. I don't seem to have any surface at the right hight to get a decent shot
I've got my moneys worth out of this £6 dress, I think I've worn it 3 or 4 times already

Primark Love

The Primark in Manchester is undergoing some major renovations at the moment. Every night I walk past at least one of its sides, and the other day I noticed the door near Burger King (Piccadilly Gardens) had re-opened and it looks quite interesting.

New escalators and lifts in the corner, a fancy new till bank and although they have now blocked off half of the ground floor, it is already looking more appealing. I can’t wait to see what it will be like once it’s all finished.

They have some lovely things in at the moment, I need to be good and not buy anything for a while. Mainly due to having so many clothes I don’t know what to do with it all and secondly because I am extremely poor, Blackpool and the Hen Do’s have taken far more funds than I ever expected.
I took a few cheeky snaps; I think my camera was on the wrong white balance as all the colours look a bit washed out.

I am I love with this Knitted dress, I think it was £10, I can’t decide if I like the Purple, Black or Navy best. Normally I’d buy all three but I can’t really justify one!

Shirts are not really my friends, to say how small I am in the boob area I always have issues with gape but I love this Owl print shirt and the dog print cami, I love all the dog print things but the dresses are far too high neck, I bought 2 of them but had to return them as I felt very claustrophobic in them.
I’m also loving the Christmas Cardie, I think I might need this, but if I knew Santa was going to buy it for me, I could resist. Last year I got into the Christmas Spirit with a Falmer Xmas Cardie for Matalan that I wore till about April.

Finally I love these purses, the picture didn't rotate but ate but you get the idea

Trip to Asda Living

I had a little trip to ASDA Living with my mama, I do love ASDA living.

I got this G21 top, its really pretty and think it will be really good for a night out and i could wear it for work with a vest under it. for £4 it was a steal!
I also got this green multi print frock. I've liked this since they got them in, but hadn't got round to buying and it was only £6. Ignore the jeans round my ankles I couldn't be bother removing them!
I also got a bra for £4. 2 packs of pens £3, a pair of Ballet pumps, £5, a red top £5 (i didn't try this on as my mum handed it to me as I got to the till), PJ Bottoms £3.
Not bad for £30.

OOTD Wednesday

Evening all,

i seem to be losing GFC followers left right and centre, although numbers are not the be all and end all i'd not nice to see 4 gone in a 4 hours, seems a bit much! oh well.

Today i wore my blue dress from River Island, yep that's right RIVER ISLAND!

It's a size 18 which in itself is a rare novelty in my local store, i tried it on, it fitted (well i can get away with it) i love everything about it.

The colour is one of my favourites, i love the granddad style colour, i even like the platted belt.

Its a jersey fabric and very forgiving and it was in the sale (would i buy it if it wasn't?!)

I wore it with a necklace from Accessorize, which normally breaks but i fixed it this morning and it is still in one piece.
 I also wore
This is me, i can't get it to rotate for love nor money, Leggins as always from Next (i promise i have lots of pairs of these!)
I've got a few posts planned but they are ones i need a bit of time and combine a few different things, so it won't just be OOTD posts in the future.

I'm hopefully going to Skipton this weekend but not crossing fingers and next weekend i'm off to Lytham proms so expect some posts from them.

What are you fave types of posts? what do you like to blog and read about?

OOTD Tuesday

i'd like to start by saying i'm in a bad mood, i'm been grumpy all day also known as Angry Steph coined by a colleague!

i will try to be cheerful but i can't promise, i also have developed ear ache and toothache and a headache!

Ok here goes OOTD... that needs its own jingle.

Shoes TK Maxx - i've also realised they are a brand XTI  which is a brand i've seen and noticed in Spain (it is a spanish brand i think) but as i don't really go in shoe shops (ahem you'd think i was lying if you saw how many pairs of shoes i own) i haven't noticed them in the UK.

Dress - you've seen this before but only in the changing rooms when i bought it now you get to see it in the toilets.... ooo i do spoil you!

Cardie - F&F a million years ago

Leggins - Next

OOTD Monday

Back to work today, and due to a nice weather weekend I managed to get to the bottom of my washing basket and it's like getting a whole new wardrobe.

Shoes - TK Maxx

iPod Picture

Dress - New Look Inspire sale a few months ago, it did come with an animal print belt but I ditched that as soon as I got the dress. Belts rarely fit me or suit me or are comfortable, does anyone else struggle with belts?

Camera Picture
That was just a little experiment to see the quality difference. At dinner time even though it was raining I decided to go for a walk and try and get some pictures of me in settings other than the loos. I'm going to struggle as I don't have a significant other to take lovely photos of me so I'm a in the mirror self-timer kind of girl.
Seeing what the camera would take
I look very grumpy, 12 seconds isn't enough time to smile

It was raining very hard and there weren’t many places that were suitable to balance the camera on not sure I like the wonky bridge shot.

How do you take your pictures of self? Partner, Parent, Child, Self-timer?
